It is the 5th most popular college in texas, it was ranked 25 out of over 2000 schools nationwide but was ranked 2 in Texas. It offers a Bachelor’s, Masters and Doctorate degree in music. It has an acceptance rate of 12% and faculty ratio of about 6:1 for more attention to its students. Many of its Alumni have gone on to win Grammys and Pulitzer prizes and many of its faculty members are famous as elite performers in orchestras.
University of Houston

University of North Texas School of Music

Its popularity is due to its Jazz program headed by One O’Clock lab band, they have Grammys under their belt.

Southern Methodist University

It has an acceptance rate of 45% and its scholarship program is top notch. They have a dynamic faculty and its students have gone on to make waves on Broadway and internationally acclaimed orchestras. Its classes are small for a more intensive learning for its students.
The University of Texas at San Antonio
This located at San Antonio. It a public school and has a great number is students. It was ranked 42 out of over 100 Colleges in the state, it has the 11th most popular College in Texas. They offer only a Bachelor’s degree in music.
